The LG Optimus One P500 was released in 2010 as one of the first smartphones in the popular Optimus One range from LG. It is also known in different parts of the world as Thrive, Vortex, and Phoenix.
The Optimus One P500 and others in the Optimus One series are considered to be entry-level touch-screen smartphones. The P500 was originally released and shipped with Android 2.2 operating software, but since the release of Android 2.3 Gingerbread there are plans to upgrade the current software the handset is shipped with to the newest version. The basic design of the handset remains the same with each country and network but the shape and layout of the buttons on the handset do vary. The Optimus One is the first LG smartphone range to reach sales of over 1 million handsets. This article will tell you how to use your Unlock codes for a LG Optimus One P500.

One thing that doesn’t differ around the world is the network restrictions placed on the handset. The manufacturer locks the handset to the network they are selling it to so it can only be used with a SIM card on that particular network. It is easily removed however with the use of an unlock code, and some simple instructions.
